Late last summer, we moved into our new home that we built. Since then, we have updated the blog to a new website and we will be blogging about the new home; a European farmhouse. Although we aren’t located in Europe, my inspiration from the build came from that design aesthetic and feel. And since this blog started with the old house, I thought it only fitting to revisit our previous home, where for those of you that have been following me along this journey will remember a home full of DIY projects and countless design projects that we thought it would be fitting to take a look back at some of our favorites and most memorable. For those of you who are new here to the new blog and to the new build, here is a look at where it all began!
Kitchen Remodel:
We painted the cabinets with Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black and painted the outdated tile with Sherwin Williams Summer White. It’s amazing how much it changed the look of the kitchen, it also was lighter and brighter which was a struggle in this galley kitchen space.

Our previous home had a french country design aesthetic which I loved in our bedroom. The before was dark beige paint that we redesigned with new paint, new flooring, lighting, a DIY custom headboard and a refinished dresser that I added a hutch:
One of the DIY projects that I brought to my new home was the Dining Table that I built. Here is a look at it in the previous home:
And now the Dining Table in it’s new home:
One of my favorite project areas of our old home was the outdoor spaces and patio. The hydrangea trees and bushes were already there but they really put on a show and one of those things I miss of the old yard. We redesigned the patio by painting the concrete patio, adding seating areas and landscaping and built privacy screen planters to hide the neighbors basketball court.
Here is a look at the after and how we created a little oasis with privacy and added water fountains in the landscape beds to help with noise issues. And just look at those glorious hydrangeas:
And finally, a space where the blog began, the home office went through many transformations as it was a multipurpose space in the beginning when my kids were at home before it exclusively become my home office space:
And finally the space redesigned for my home office:
All the love and hard work went into making this a home we loved and we are forever grateful for the memories and for all of you to follow along!
